Traffic Generation Challenge
http-equiv="content-type">
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">Today I have
been set a challenge.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">This post
today is going to be about traffic generation.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">The reason
behind this a challenge I have been set by Alex
from Listbuilding
with Alex.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">Now traffic
generation is not my strong point that said I could
learn from this challenge and so can anyone who follows this post.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">Right
let’s dive in and make a start.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">I will begin
by listing down all I presently know about
traffic generation.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">In compiling
this list, I would appreciate any help or
support from anyone who has practical experience in any form of traffic
generation.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">As a form of
inducement, bribe or whatever you wish to
call it I will be offering up some valuable content in the way of
appreciation
to visitors to this blog or those who contribute to my traffic
generation.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">Now you have
probably realized that the traffic generation I am talking about is
traffic to this blog.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">I have to
show results through Google analytics which is
now set-up on this blog and will be used to track my traffic. The
results from
this report will be used by Alex to compare with other students on the
coaching
program who are also taking part in this challenge.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">Right before
I stray to far from the task in hand I need
now to start the list I mentioned.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">List

style="text-decoration: underline;">Keyword research:
This is just a brief explanation, as I
understand it. In order to generate traffic to any blog, website or
webpage
your content should contain the relevant keywords you are marketing
for. Google
will send out its spider bots and crawl all over your site for what it
considers
keywords that are relevant to your page description or website. If it
decides
that your content is relevant you will achieved a higher-ranking if not
you
will go the opposite way.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">You may
notice in the start of my post the keyword
style="text-decoration: underline;">traffic
generation and the amount of times this is repeated. If
when Google checks this
page it will decide that traffic generation is what the page is all
about then
it will be rated for this keyword. Of course, you have to abide by
certain
restrictions and not over do it with a blatant overuse of the keyword.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">With all that
said it is not always apparent on how Google
determines your relevancy as Google’s algorithms keep
changing.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">Tools:
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">A number of
keyword research
tools are available but the most common and easiest to use is Google Ad
words tool.
With this, you have the option to search by name or phrase or enter the
URL of
a website who you consider is competitive in the field you will then be
able to
determine the keywords this site is using.
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Verdana;">In my next
post, I will be continuing with the traffic
generation using Social Media and Web 2.0…
