Lego shortage due to high demand
The demand for the small plastic bricks of Lego over the Christmas period has made the Lego market a high value commodity. The value of Lego has soared due to an increase of enthusiasts amongst children and adults leading to the ongoing shortage.
Like any other commodity in short supply the value of the collectable Lego is like gold and now sold by the gram.
Collectable experts on EBay have reported a 110lb collection of Lego recently bought for £900 on EBay.
The sales of Lego have increased as it becomes more popular due to kits associated with blockbuster films such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
Car boot sales can be a supply of cheap Lego to buy in bulk if you are lucky enough to be there first. This can then be resold on EBay auction for a tidy profit.
The advantage with Lego is that older kits supplied 30 years ago are still compatible with the newer versions and it’s indestructible nature makes it last a lifetime.
As a result Lego bricks and kits are handed down through the generations. With the versatility of Lego there is no limit on what you can achieve.
