If you are not already aware of this EBay are changing the listing fees and feedback. The feedback applies to sellers who will no longer be able to respond to neutral or negative feedback from buyers,no matter what the reason.
The changes are designed in favour of the best performing sellers, over rogue or unreliable sellers. From the information so far the following changes to fees will apply.
*Lower insertion fees for auction and fixed price listings.Could be to compete with Amazon where listings are free.
*Higher Final Value Fees,so listing fees reduced and final value fees ‘adjusted’,I think they mean ‘increased’!
*Reserve Fees will no longer be refundable.
* Fixed Price Format items under $1.00 can no longer be listed. This could impact on EBook sellers and the way they collect quick feedback.
* Picture gallery is free (but not in UK).This helps other EBayers but not those of us in the UK.If you have items specific to an American market you can always list on EBay.com.
* Tiered pricing for Featured Plus,Pro Pack and Homepage Featured. Now,the price for heavyweight features will be determined by the start price or reserve price of the listing.
* Default Seller Rating (DSR). This determines how prominently your listing appears in searches. The rating is a combination of your DSR together with feedback and fewer customer complaints. To remain a power-seller you have to retain a good DSR rating.
* Best Match this will determine your listings position in search results. From 1st March 2008 Best Match will be the default sort option. This will be replacing your keywords present in your title which was the factor used to determine where your listings appeared in search results.
